This emblem is a visual testament to the historical legacy and symbolism that has shaped the identity of the region. At its core, the logo features two iconic creatures - the majestic lion and the enigmatic raven.
The lion, a powerful and regal figure that draws inspiration from the moniker bestowed upon the renowned Swedish king, Gustav II Adolf who was affectionately known as the ”lion from the north” This regal creature embodies strength , courage and the indomitable spirit that characterized the rulers of the kingdom.
In harmonius ”juxtaposition” , the raven takes flight - embodying a mystical connection to the viking mythology.
Revered as symbols of wisdom and foresight, ravens innorse folkcore were associated with Odin, the god of wisdom and war. By incorporating the raven into the logo, a bridge is forged between the historical narratives of the vikings and the enduring influence of their beliefs.
